I live in Silicon Valley. I woke up in the middle of the night and had a thought to drive all over Silicon Valley and take pictures of the signs at some of the famous tech business. My dear husband said he would drive me fearing I would have difficulty parking and taking photos. It was a fun, exhausting day, but I created this fun collage of photos. I like it.
Morro Rock, Morro Bay, California.
Sometimes it's not how great the photo is but it is the memory of the object and the area. My childhood through adulthood was spent vacationing in and around Morro Bay. Since moving from central California to Silicon Valley, I don't visit Morro Rock as often. At least my photos bring back to memory all the good time.
Photography is one of my passions. I love to travel, explore and search for "just the right shot," as all photographers do. A good quality cell phone is so handy these days in snapping a shot on the spur of the moment. In years past I would hang my camera around my neck and take it most everywhere I went. I never knew when a photo opportunity would arise, and I didn't want to miss that shot. I still take my camera bag and lug around my tripod, but my cell phone is my handy go-to camera. Of course, I purchase the phone with the best quality camera.
I hope this doesn't gross you out, but this is what life/nature is all about. Don't get a shot like this very often. I was able to get several shots and the hawk didn't budge. I couldn't help but wonder how the bird was going to take the squirrel to its nest. I guess just like it put it on the limb of the tree.
Walking to my car very early one morning I looked up at the moon and snapped this picture with my cell phone. I like it. My husband doesn't.
I loved our trip to Turkey. In Cappadocia we actually stayed a night in one of these pillars that was made into a modern motel. It was amazing. These giant rocks eroded over the years into hundreds of spectacular pillars.
Neushwanstein Castle, Fussen, Bavaria, Germany.
My husband, Herb and I were standing on a bridge staring at this beautiful sight when I took this photo. We later toured through the different levels of this castle. Yes, I managed to climb up all the stairs.
Walt Disney fashioned the castle at Disneyland after Neushwanstein castle.
Getting the perfect shot of any location means all variables must be in sync.
I tried to make it to the top of Half Dome. I will add the story to my memoir section. Coming soon
I am a resident of Campbell, California. Our water tower is very photogenic, especially when the Crape Myrtles are in bloom. I park my car on a side street and get on a small ladder to get the best view through the blossoms.
Different angle, different year.
My canvas print of the Campbell Water Tower in the display window of Simply Smashing Boutique on Campbell Avenue, downtown Campbell.
